Department-Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry, Rajya Sabha under the Chairmanship
of Shri. Tiruchi Siva, M.P. visited Chennai on 29.5.2012 and held discussion with the management of Ennore Port Limited, on the issues of MoU performance.
World Environment Day was celebrated on 5.6.2012 at Ennore Port.
The day was celebrated by way of planting tree saplings. Shri. A.K.Gupta, General Manger (Marine Services),
Shri. V.Krishnasamy, DGM (Projects) Shri. P.Radhakrishnan, DGM (Civil) and other officials planted about 30 tree saplings inside the
Port administrative building, to mark this occasion.
Shri. A.K.Datt, Member, Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) New Delhi
visited Ennore Port on 15.6.2012 and held discussion with Shri. S. Velumani, Chairman cum Managing Director and
other Sr. officials of EPL. A sapling was planted to mark his visit.
Ennore Port contributed a sum of Rs. 7.5 crores towards equity share to SPV company i.e Chennai – Ennore Port Road Co. Ltd for
the development of Chennai – Ennore Road connectivity Project in the presence of Thiru G.K.Vasan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Shipping on 29.6.2012 for the
development of TPP Road. Ennore Port so far had contributed a sum of Rs.25 crores out of 34.02 crores towards equity share.
