Republic Day was celebrated at Ennore Port on 26.1.2012.
The function was attended by the Port users, village people and School children of nearby villages. Shri. S.Velumani, CMD,
EPL presenting the Laptops to the nearby schools and stick files for the School students as part of CSR activities.
The First Project Cargo vessel ‘M.V PAC ATHENA’ berthed at Ennore Port on 27.1.2012 through which windmill
towers from Indonesia were unloaded at General Cargo Berth on 27.1.2012.

8th International Conference on Coastal and Port Engineering, PIANC - COPEDEC VIII was held at IIT, Chennai from 20.2.2012 to 24.2.2012
in which EPL exhibited a stall.This conference was visited by many foreign delegates. A 50 member team of delegates of PIANC- COPEDEC visited
Ennore Port on 22.2.2012 and held discussion with Shri. S.Velumani, CMD, EPL
National Safety Day was observed at Ennore Port from 27.2.2012 to 5.3.2012
The valedictory function of the National Safety Week as celebrated at Port on 6.3.2012. Shri. S.Velumani, CMD, EPL presided over the function.
To mark the week long celebrations, various competitions were conducted for EPL Employees, Port users, BOT operators who took part actively and
prizes were distributed to the winners by CMD, EPL.
Parliamentary Committee on Government Assurances, Rajya Sabha under the Chairmanship of Shri.Kalraj Mishra visited
Chennai on 29.2.2012 and held discussion with the managements of Ennore Port, Chennai Port Trust, and Tuticorin Port on the Coastal
Regulations Zone Notification Act 2011.
International Women’s Day 2012 was celebrated by the women employees of EPL on 8.3.2012.
